Current Events:

 Home Delivery Service Available.

If there is ever a time when a village shop comes into its own, it is when people are isolated at home, as so many are and will be during the Coronavirus outbreak. To help at this difficult time, we are launching a free weekly home delivery service every Tuesday, beginning on 31 March. Villagers can choose from popular items held in stock, from fresh eggs, fruit and bread to store cupboard items, such as tins, pasta and cleaning products.

How to order:

 There is a home delivery order form which contains many popular items. It is available from the Parlour Shop and will soon be available to download from the Parlour Shop website shop.wellow.org

 Simply complete and return this form to the Parlour Shop – in person, by email to wellowparlourshop@gmail.com or by phone 01225 835438 by 12 noon on Mondays.

What happens next:

 Your order will be delivered between 11am and 4pm on Tuesday.

 A volunteer deliverer will leave the ordered groceries on your doorstep and ring the doorbell or telephone to let you know. For health reasons, they will not make face to face contact.

The details:

 This service is available to Parlour Shop account holders so please pop in or telephone the shop to make sure your account is open and has the necessary funds.

 In emergencies we may be able to accept telephone orders for home deliveries within 24 hours with payment by cheque on delivery.

 Orders are accepted subject to availability and we may substitute similar items if your chosen product is unavailable. The minimum order is £10.

Please give this new service a try – we hope it will prove useful during the current crisis and afterwards become a valued part of our service to villagers.

If you have any questions or suggestions please phone 01225 835438

Shop news: Campaign results!

This April the Parlour Shop ran a promotion aimed at raising awareness of the shop and its products and services, within the local community. The results were amazing, increasing the number of customer who used the shop and the income generated to the highest levels in the year – all helping to keep our community shop running. See our results here!

Loyalty Scheme

The shop is not-for-profit and exists purely for the benefit of village and other local residents. It really is a case of use it or lose it. The loyalty scheme encourages regular use of the shop and gives the committee more certainty over monthly income and cash-flow.  A number of other community shops across the country, including Freshford, operate a similar scheme to this.  To join, download a form by clicking here – it’s quick and simple.

Some of our local suppliers...

We’re always looking for new local producers doing something special. Here are a few favourites:

Have some spare time?

We have a handful of paid staff but otherwise rely solely on the generosity and tireless work of volunteers to stay open.

Do let us know if you can spare the odd hour to do a shift or other behind-the-scenes tasks. It would be hugely appreciated, as would any donations to fund the shop’s development. https://localgiving.org/charity/wellowvillageshop/
